I'll always think the XJS is beautiful. !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! is a pretty clean example with only 33,000 miles, but it's a 80's Jag so that's probably equal to a 300,000 mi Carolla. Still, a V12 for $5,500.

JAAAAAAAAAAAAAG

A guy who lives up the street from me has one, and a friend of mine has the next generation that car.

It's one of those cars that I can swing the purchase price for but still can't afford to buy.

That is one sexy bitch. Guy has an interesting stable... Other shots, it's sitting next to an Allante.

I know very jalop, the Jag also has a very appropriate oil spot under it.

That just means he takes care of it! It it didn't have the spot, that would mean it didn't have any oil.

Not as far as I know. He also has a Lincoln Mark LT as his "work truck" apparently.

on an unrelated note, my area has many unique vehicles, like an old burgundy Porsche (aircooled) where the owner had a Volvo V70 in the same colour a decade ago along with it, a yellow Audi TT, old school Firebird.. and those are usually garage kept.

Had a friend a number of years ago that was a Jag mechanic. He told me about people coming into his dealership to buy V12 XJ's...apparently one gentleman had come from some 3-400 miles away to buy a $7000 XJ. When they asked how he planned to get it home, he said he'd just drive it. They strongly urged him not to, but he did anyway.

Twice he called the dealership about the car dying on the highway while he was still in the state. The second time, they told him they wouldn't come out again if he called.

He never said what had failed either time.

I like the split headlights on the older model better. But I think I'd get a newer one and retrofit them.

I will own one of these at some point. Im thinking an early flat-head 5.3l with a 5-speed manual swap and a nice loud exhaust. Pull out the rear seats, swap in a fibreglass bonnet, boot and maybe doors, remove the bumpers and make an XJS Lightweight.

A little ironic at ~1500kg, but still a lot better than the stock car :)
